Marian Louise "Susie" Mixson Clements, 84, of Gastonia, passed away Sunday, September 3, 2017 due to complications of Alzheimer's. She was born in High Point, NC on January 12, 1933. She was the apple of everyone's eye. She was considered a great beauty, especially to her husband of sixty-five years, Charles Otis Clements who in April of this year preceded her in death. She was the daughter of the late Benjamin Carl Mixson and Anne Robinson Mixson. Susie attended school in Jamestown, NC. She was a beautician and co-owner of La Petite Beauty Salon for over twenty years. Susie did not know a stranger and easily made everyone feel welcomed and loved in her presence. She was always the life of the party! We will remember her lovely smile, good heart and strong fierce will. Even in the advanced stages of Alzheimer's, Susie still smiled at everyone she encountered.
She is survived by her two daughters, Susan Watts (Jim) of Cary, NC; Laurie LeGrand (Mark) of Belmont; her sister, Rachel Rankin of Rockville, MD.
Susie had five grandchildren who she loved to spoil; Chrissie Griffin (Chad) of Raleigh, NC; Jay Watts (Janae) of Gibsonville, NC; Ben Watts (Tina) of Cary, NC; Margaret LeGrand of Belmont, NC and Grace LeGrand of New York City, NY.
She is also survived by five great-grandchildren, Connor, Colson, Sawyer, Addison and Kinsley and various nieces and nephews.
A service will be held at her daughter's home in Belmont on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at 11:00 a.m.
Memorials may be sent to the Alzheimer's Association, 8180 Greensboro Dr., Ste 400, McLean, VA. 22102.
