Maria Taborda

Maria Omaira Taborda, 63, of Gastonia, passed away at her nephew's home on June 4, 2021.

A native of Columbia, South America, she was born February 2, 1958 to the late Manuel Salvador and Odeilde Benjumea Taborda.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Misael Taborda.

Maria was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Gastonia, NC.  She was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend.  She will be missed.

She is survived by her husband, Carlos E. Sanabria; sons, Carlos Andres Velez and Jhonathon C. Sanabria; a daughter, Paula A. Velez; siblings, Gladys Taborda, Edison Taborda, Rubiela Taborda, Gustabo Taborda, Albeiro Taborda, Manuel Taborda, Marleni Taborda, and Januario Taborda; grandchildren, Nicole Andrea Cardona, Michael Alexander Bennett, Isabela Velez Jimenez, Andres Felipe Velez, and Sharon Andrea Velez; nephews, Manuel Taborda and Julian Taborda; and many other family members.

All services are private.
