Maria Leonora Lynn

Maria Leonora Lynn, age 52, passed away December 7th, 2021, at the Caromont Regional Hospital.

She was born on December 20th, 1968, in Banga-an Panitan Capiz to parents Cesar DeCara Sr. and Erlina Dasilag DeCara.

After graduating high school in 1984, she moved to Japan, where she met her husband, Stewart Evert Lynn. They first married in March of 1997 in the Philippines and later in November of 2002 in the United States. She had her first and only son, James William Lynn, in January of 2000.

Maria enjoyed traveling and loved to see the mountains. She also loved to cook and create her own dishes.

Maria was preceded in death by her sister, Elen DeGuzman.

She is survived by her husband of 24 years, Stewart Lynn; her son, James Lynn; step-sons, Douglas and Christopher Lynn; brothers, Cesar Jr., Joefrance, and Rolando DeCara; and sisters, Emily Ramilo, Sarlina DeCara, and Leilany Elliott.

Her last wish was to see the Alaskan northern lights in person; we are sure that she is looking at them now.

A funeral service officiated by Pastor Terry Casiño, will be held 7pm on Wednesday, December 15, 2021, at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service – 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, NC 28052.

Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
