Margarita "Macu" Padilla, 89, of Shelby, passed away November 30, 2019, at White Oak Manor in Shelby
She was born June 10, 1930, in Colon, Panama, daughter of the late Pedro Pablo Padilla and Elida Subera de Padilla.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four siblings.
Margarita was a member of United Pentecostal Church in Gastonia, North Carolina.
She loved doing jigsaw puzzles, and, especially when she was younger, loved to hike Crowder's Mountain.
She also loved cooking and going to the beach.
She was an avid reader of the Bible and classical works of literature.
Margarita loved her family very much and greatly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Left to cherish her memories are her sons, Cesar L. Padilla and Dan David Padilla, daughter, Roxana Rumfelt, nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and seven siblings.
The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m. Tuesday, December 3, at Greene Funeral Service, South Chapel, 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia.
A funeral service, officiated by Pastor Sergio Geron and Bishop Hugo Ramos, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Gaston Memorial Park.
