Margaret Elizabeth Whitesides

Margaret Elizabeth Whitesides, 82, of Gastonia passed away on August 20, 2014 at Caromont Regional Medical Center, Gastonia. She was born February 11, 1932 in York County, SC, daughter of the late John Thad Howell and Jemima Ethel Greene Howell. A funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. on Saturday at Greene Funeral Service, West Chapel, 216 Archie Whitesides Rd., Gastonia, officiated by Rev. Michael Lee. The family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Westview Gardens, Bessemer City. Mrs. Whitesides is survived by: daughters, Debbie Cook, Peggy Long and husband David; grandchildren, Anna and Andrew Long; sister in-law, Helen Boyd and husband Ronald; niece, Anne Bumgardner; great niece, Pam Fowler; special dog, Lady. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by: her husband, Franklin "Dee" Whitesides; son, Jack Whitesides.
