Margaret Rose Thompson

Margaret Rose McGirt Thompson, 75, of Kings Mountain, passed away July 12, 2015, at White Oak Manor in Kings Mountain. She was born June 26, 1940, in Robeson County, daughter of the late Marvin McGirt and SuFronia Chavis McGirt. Margaret was a member of Mt. Airy Baptist Church. She was a wonderful mother and was loved by all. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Yvonne Campbell, Cora Lee Locklear, Mary Owens; brother, Marvin McGirt, Jr.; son, Victor Sanders; daughter, Velma McGirt; and grandson, Justin Gunter. Left to chersh her memories are her sons, Michael McGirt, Timmy Thompson, Arthur Mitchem; daughters, Zelma Gee, Annette Gunter, Renee Gunter; brothers, Fred McGirt, Bobby McGirt; sisters, Josephine Locklear, Eva Goins, Dorothy Hammonds, Glenda Lusk; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren. A funeral service will held 4pm on Monday at the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service, 216 Archie Whitesides Rd., Gastonia. Pastor Greg Neely will be officiating the service. The family will receive friends 3:00-3:45 pm on Monday before the service at the funeral home. Interment will be held at Westview Gardens, Bessemer City. Arrangements are with the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
