Margaret Jane Smith

We are saddened to announce the passing of Margaret Jane Smith, born on December 31, 1939, in Rutherford County NC. Margaret peacefully left this world on November 19, 2024, at Caromont Regional Medical Center. She was a beloved member of the community, known for her dedication to Taylor Memorial Baptist Church, with roots at Carson Memorial Baptist Church from her earlier years.

Margaret enjoyed a simple life, finding joy in the pages of the books she read and the artistic process of creating picture collages. She worked in the label room of the cotton textiles industry, leaving a mark on the world with her diligent work ethic and warm spirit.

Survived by her loving son, Christopher Smith, Margaret will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents Ambrose and Lula Mae Walker Jones; husband James Willis Smith; son James Gregory Smith; siblings Clay Jones, James Jones, John Jones and Cora Mae Jones.
