Margaret Aleta Pressley, 89 of Bessemer City, passed away on February 17, 2013 at Gaston Memorial Hospital, Gastonia. She was born March 15, 1923 in Burke County daughter of the late Elbert Whisnant and Alma Paige Whisnant. Margaret was a member of Bright Light Baptist Church, Bessemer City. She loved her family and her church. Mrs Pressley loved to sing gospel music and she had sang with the Pressley Family for over 50 years. A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm on Wednesday at Bright Light Baptist Church, Bessemer City officiated by her son, Rev. Ronald Pressley. The family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 pm on Tuesday at Greene Funeral Service, West Chapel, 216 Archie Whitesides Rd., Gastonia. She will be carried to her final resting place by a horse-drawn coach to Westview Gardens, Bessemer City. Mrs. Pressley is survived by: son, Ronald Pressley and wife Betty; daughter, Paula Bridges and husband Scott; sister, Clara Ware; grandchildren, Kenneth Pressley, Scott Greene, Aleta Crowe, Shanna Lanham, Aleta, Ben and Breann Bridges; ten great grandchildren; six great great grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by: her husband, Paul Pressley; brother, Wilson Murray; sisters, Florence Rhyne, Elosie Bedford, Marie Henley, Jean Spivey great granddaughter, Addison Grace Lanham.
