Margaret Rachel Mayhew Campbell

Crouse, NC - Margaret Rachel Mayhew Campbell, 89, of Crouse, NC, passed away February 28, 2014, at Alexandria Place. She was born July 25, 1924 in Mecklenburg County daughter of the late, Tolley and Lula Mayhew. Margaret was a loving mother and grandmother who attended Dallas Church of God. A celebration of life service will be held 3 pm on Sunday at the Dallas Church of God 311 S. College St. Dallas, NC officiated by the Revs. Danny Shortridge, Carl Overton and Pervie Stine. Visitation will be held 1:30 - 2:45 prior to the service at the church. Interment will be private. She is survived by her son, James D. Campbell and wife, Pamela; a special niece, Jane Smith; sister, Bert Edding; grandchildren, James Campbell Jr. and wife, Kimberly, Rebecca Roberts; step-grandchildren, Crystal Overton and husband, Carl, Matthew Hefner and wife, Megan, Jenny Stogner;great-grandchildren, Cailyn, Daniel and David Campbell, Sacoria Valentine, Sabrina Martin, Joel Roberts; step-great-grandchildren, Allen, Dillon and Gage Smith; great-great grandchildren, Kinesley and Khloe Campbell and Layla and Samuel Martin. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William J. Campbell. Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
