Margaret Eugenia Long

Margaret Eugenia Long, 90, of Wingate, NC, passed away Sunday, December 4, 2022, surrounded by her family at Union County Hospice House.

She was born April 7, 1932, in Gaston Co, NC, daughter of the late Charlie and Nellie Branch Harwell.

Margaret was a native of Gaston Co, NC. She loved her family, listening to gospel music, and making crafts.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Long; daughter, Connie Robinson; and sisters, Pauline Shives, and Helen Tillman.

Margaret is survived by her son, Leon Kirkland (Mary); daughter, Elaine Kirkland; sister, Mary Neal Wooten; 9 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great-grandchildren.

A memorial service officiated by Pastor Johnny Yarboro, will be held 2pm, Saturday, December 10, 2022, at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service – 1503 S.  York Rd., Gastonia, NC 28052.

Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home.
