Margaret Lucille Herron

Margaret "Margo" Lucille Clack Herron, 90, of York, SC, passed away Saturday, November 9, 2024, at her residence.

She was born August 28, 1934, in Cleveland Co, NC, daughter of the late William and Martha Clack.

Margo attended Laurel Wood Baptist Church, when she was able to go. Her family was the most important part of her life. She was a beautician for years in Gastonia, loved to eat and visit local restaurants, and also would travel to the mountains during her spare time. Margo had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh, loved to play the piano, and was a waitress for many different restaurants. Margo was an "adopted mom" to so many. She never met a stranger. Always made time to sit and talk with you. Coffee and chocolate were always available, she had a sweet tooth.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley T Herron; and great-granddaughter, "Gabby" Shulga.

Margo is survived by her daughters, Connie McDonald (Barry), Judy Russell (Jerry), and Tina Smithers (Tim); her son, Tim Herron (special friend Lisa); honorary son, Randy Humphries; and grandchildren, Lisa, Charles, Jonathan, Heather, Taylor, Kyle, Levi, Hedi, Joshua, Ashley, Caleb, and Wesley; and 19 plus great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held 1:00pm, Saturday, November 16, 2024, at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service - 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, NC 28052. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Gaston Memorial Park, Gastonia, NC.
