Marcus Robert Childers Sr.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Marcus Robert Childers Sr., 35, of Kings Mountain.

Born in Shelby, North Carolina, on October 19, 1990, Marcus was the beloved son of Mark Howard and Regina Love. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Dorothy Whitmire.

Marcus was known and loved for his free spirit and his "gypsy soul." He found joy in traveling, making memories along the way, and spending meaningful time with the family he loved so dearly.

Marcus leaves behind a family who will forever hold his memory close to their hearts. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his children, Trinity Childers, Marcus Childers Jr., Kyrie Childers, and Javian Hutchins; his brothers, Daniel Childers and Preston Love; a host of other siblings; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and loved ones.

The family will receive friends from 2 - 6 PM on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service, 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia. During this time, Speaker Preston Love will share thoughts and memories of Marcus. All who knew and loved him are warmly invited to come celebrate his life.
