Madison Riggan

Madison Riggan, 70, of Gastonia, passed away December 17, 2018 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center.
He was born May 14, 1948 in Oxford, NC, the son of the late Oscar Madison Riggan Sr. and Lillian Parham Riggan.
Madison was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Gastonia. He retired from Employment Security Commission in the year 2000 after 30+ years of service.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sharon Riggan; son, Erskine Brooks and wife, Brooke and their children, McKenna and Camden; daughter, Nicole Goins and husband Will and their children, Kylee and Kolton; sisters, Elizabeth Tippett of Coral Springs, FL and Priscilla Riggan Adcock and husband Jimmy of Oxford, NC; nieces and nephews, Mary Ellen Stovall, Jason Grissom, Dana Grissom Cash, Dawn Word, Debbie Cirone, Craig Tippett and Keith Tippett.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Ellen Grissom and husband Melvin; niece, Amy Grissom Branch; and brother-in-law, Harold Tippett.
A funeral service will be held 2:30 pm on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at Trinity United Methodist Church, officiated by Pastors Carolyn Sears and Bruce Hobson.
The family will receive friends from 1 – 2 pm at the church prior to the service.
Burial will be 3 pm on Friday, December 21st in Richmond County Memorial Park in Rockingham, NC.
