Mack Daniel Kirby, Jr.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mack Daniel Kirby Jr., a devoted husband, father, and friend, who departed this world on December 10, 2024, at the age of 74. Mack was born on Christmas Day, December 25, 1949, in Charlotte, North Carolina, son of the late Mack Kirby Sr., and Vivian Kirby, and spent much of his life surrounded by the love and warmth of his family.

Mack's work as a truck driver for Auto Driveaway was a testament to his strong work ethic and commitment to providing for his loved ones. He was always up for an adventure on the open road, bringing stories and experiences home that enriched the lives of those around him. Beyond his profession, Mack was known for his unyielding honesty; he had a way of telling it like it was that endeared him to many.

In his spare time, Mack found joy in watching movies and TV shows, perfecting his pool skills, and enjoying a good game of golf. His love for baseball and racing brought countless hours of excitement and camaraderie, whether he was on the couch cheering for his favorite team or at the racetrack with friends.

Mack's spirit will be forever cherished by his beloved spouse, Julia Kirby, and his children: Ralph Harmon, Paige Harmon, Yates Harmon, Lori Cash and her husband Steve Cash, and Ernest Harmon, Shannon Harmon. Grandchildren Kelly Ann Goodman, Jordan Harrold, Brayden Harmon, Brooke Eggers. Great Grandchildren Tessa Goodman and Mack Forbes. Each of them carries a piece of his legacy, filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories of an all-around good guy who loved fiercely.

Mack will be honored with a Celebration of Life gathering Sunday, December 29, 2024, 3:00 PM, at Antioch Lutheran Church, 330 Old NC 277 Loop Road, Dallas, NC. The burial of the urn will follow the service at the church. His family invites all who knew and loved Mack to join them in remembering the joy he brought to their lives and to share stories that highlight his wonderful personality.

In our hearts, Mack will remain an everlasting source of love and inspiration.
