Lucille Moore

Lucille Dowell Moore, 78, a native of Gastonia, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at her residence.

She was born on July 4, 1942, in Gaston County, to the late Will and Minnie Dowell.

Lucille was a member of South Gastonia Church of God for over 50 years.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Steven Michael Cathey; sisters, Kathleen Morris, Evelyn Richmond, Geraldine Dowell, and Judy Grimes; brothers, JC, Jack and Billy Dowell; and stepson, Paul Moore.

Left to cherish Lucille's memories are her husband of 50 years, Henry Moore; sons, George (Sandra) Cathey, and Tim (Heather) Moore; daughter, Stephanie (Randy) Beavers; 11 grandchildren, Christen Robinson, Tim Cathey, Tyler Cathey, Cody Cathey, Katie Moore, Noah Moore, Christian Moore, Zeke Beavers, Lucas Beavers, Alexis Beavers, and Emilee Stamey; brothers, Ronald (Patsy) Dowell and Conroe (Carolyn) Dowell; sister, Martha Goins; stepson, Don (Gina) Moore; stepdaughters, Pat (Gary) Matthews, and Brenda (Art) Duckworth; 7 step grandchildren, Dana Matthews, Jessie Bowie, Ricky Cordova, James Tanner, Jeremy Moore, Josh Moore, and Zena Moore; and numerous great grandchildren.

A funeral service, officiated by Rev. Chris Peek and Rev. Bobby Gilley, will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, May 27, 2021 at South Gastonia Church of God – 310 Carolina Avenue, Gastonia, NC 28052.

Interment to follow the service at Gaston Memorial Park.

Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium.
