Louise D. Smith

Louise D. Smith, 70, of Bessemer city passed away March 23, 2013 at the Robin Johnson House in Dallas. She was born May 22, 1942 in Waynesville, the daughter of the late Walter Scroggins and Clara Hogue Parker. A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Greene Funeral Service, West Chapel, 216 Archie Whitesides Road, Gastonia, officiated by the Rev. Mike Criswell. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will be held at Westview Gardens, Bessemer City. She was a member of Bessemer City Community Church. Mrs. Smith is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Edward J. Smith Sr.; sons, Edward Smith Jr. and wife Dixie of Gastonia; Danny Smith of Bes-semer City, daughter-in-law, Susan Smith of Gastonia; brother, Bobby London and wife Carolyn of Bessemer City; sisters, Shelia Garver and husband Danny of Gastonia, Shirley Bollinger of Gastonia, Sue Beck of Gastonia; grandchildren, Gavin Lang and wife Amber, Lee Smith, and Brandon London; great-grandchildren, Sophia Lang; and special friend, Emil Shuford. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her grandmother, Jurie Hogue; brother, Billy Parker. Memorials may be made to Gaston Hospice, P.O. Box 3984 Gastonia, NC 28054.
