Louise Smith Cook, 88, of Gastonia, passed away on Tuesday, September 21, 2021, at her residence.

Born on May 24, 1933, in Habersham County, GA, Louise is the daughter of the late Clyde and Stella Church Smith.

Louise was a member of Loray Baptist Church in Gastonia. She was a loving and great mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

In addition to her parents, Louise is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Varnadore; daughter, Debbie Wentz; sons-in-law, Bud Wentz, and Steve Cato; and grandsons, Ray Wentz, and Andrew Woodberry.

Left to cherish Louise's memories, are her daughters, Diana Cato and Jan Varnadore; brothers, Steve Smith; sisters, Barbara Haas, and Doris Altman; grandchildren, Chris Cato, Brian (Deanna) Woodberry, and Nicole Woods; and 9 great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 pm on Saturday, September 25, 2021, at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service – 1503 S York Rd, Gastonia, NC 28052.

In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to Gaston Hospice.

A graveside service, officiated by Pastor Kent Cranford, will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, September 26, 2021, at Gaston Memorial Park.

Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Inc.
