Louie Lamar Scoggins

Louie Lamar "Bud" Scoggins, 78, of Gastonia, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, June 11, 2016, at his home.

He was born January 27, 1938, in Gaston County, son of the late James Aaron Scoggins and Ruby Rowland Shephard Scoggins.

Louie retired as section supervisor from Pharr Yarn after 31 years.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Gaston Hospice.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Vera Rose Barrett Scoggins; stepson, Duane Barrett; and brothers, Leonard Scoggins, JD and Billy Shephard.

Left to cherish his memories are his son, Randy Scoggins and wife, Cathy; stepson, Junior Barrett and wife, Marsha; sisters, Betty Clark, Carolyn Oliver and husband, Buck, Helen Morton and husband, Robert; grandchildren, Matthew Scoggins, Sarah Scoggins; step granddaughter, Christy Barrett; step great grandchildren, Clara and Ethan;  and special friends, Clarence and Larry Rose, and Bobby Trimnal.

A funeral service will be held 11am on Tuesday at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service, 1503 South York Rd. Gastonia. Pastor Jerry Millwood will be officiating.

The family will receive friends 10-10:45am before the service at the funeral home.

Interment will be held at Gaston Memorial Park.
