Loretta Hardin Carpenter

Loretta Hardin Carpenter, 91, of Cherryville, NC, passed away Thursday, October 5, 2023, at Stanley Total Living Center, Stanley.

She was born October 8, 1931, a native of Gaston Co, NC, daughter of the late Barney and Emily Stroupe.

Loretta was a member of Crowders Mountain Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Arthur Hardin; and daughters, Delores Huss, and Alice Martin.

Loretta is survived by her sons, David Arthur Hardin and wife Wanda, Paul James Hardin and wife Carol, and Joel Wayne Hardin and wife Diane; sister, Sarah Huskey; grandchildren, Heather Hardin, Nikki Knight, Dylan Martin, Becky Thrift, Debbie Lynn McGill; and five great-grandchildren.

A funeral service officiated by Pastor Larry Laws will be held 1pm, Monday, October 9, 2023, at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service – 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, NC 28052.

Family will receive friends 12:00-1:00 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.

Burial will follow the service at Gaston Memorial Park, Gastonia, NC.
