Lola "Nanny" Schied Simpson

Lola "Nanny" Schied  Simpson, 72, of Bessemer City, passed away on August 11, 2021, at Atrium Health Cleveland in Shelby.

She was born May 21, 1949, in Norfolk, VA, daughter of the late Robert Schied and Mildred Hull Schied.

She was a member of Long Creek Presbyterian Church in Kings Mountain.

Lola always strived to live a dedicated Christian life and be a Godly example.

She was so proud of the title 'Nanny".

A celebration of Lola's Life will be held 7:00 pm Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at Greene Funeral Service, West Chapel, 216 Archie Whitesides Rd.

The family will receive friends 5-7 pm prior to the service.

Lola is survived by her sons, Jay Simpson and wife Tesha, John Simpson and wife Amanda; daughters, Paula Castro and husband Alfredo, Rachel Simpson and significant other, Chris; brother, Robert Ivan Schied and wife Patricia; sisters, Anna Davis and husband Lanny, Mildred Rhyne, Mary Bentley and husband David; twelve grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.

In addition to  her parents Lola was preceded in death by her husband, John Morgan Simpson; sisters, Margaret Rose Brown, Elizabeth Schied.
