Lloyd Hope

Lloyd "Blukie" Hope, 81, of Blacksburg, SC, formerly of Gastonia, passed away January 31, 2013 at Peachtree Centre in Gaffney, SC. He was born May 4, 1931 in Cleveland County son of the late Lewis P. Hope and Lenorh Uren Hope. Mr. Hope was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church, Blacksburg, SC and a past charter member of Marantha Baptist Church, Dallas, NC. A funeral service will be 7:00 pm on Monday at Greene Funeral Service, West Chapel, 216 Archie Whitesides Rd., Gastonia officiated by Rev. Grady Gregory. The family will receive friends 6:00 - 7:00 pm on Monday at the funeral home. A private Interment will be held at Gaston Memorial Park, Gastonia. Mr. Hope is survived by: his loving wife of 62 years, Joyce Patterson Hope of the home; son, Brad Hope of Blacksburg, SC; daughters, Merica Reid and Mandy Hope both of Blacksburg, SC; SC; grandchildren, Donny Griffin, Holly , Joshua and Raven Reid, Brandon Hope; great grandchild, Karter Smith. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by: his brothers, Creed Hope, Boyd "Brownie" Hope; sisters, Ruth Bumgardner, Velma Barkley.
