Lisa Barnes Jones

Lisa Ann Barnes Jones, 59, of Gastonia, NC passed away Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at NY Presbyterian Hospital, Queens, New York.

She was born October 17, 1961 in Gaston County, NC to Flora Hudspeth Barnes and the late Richard Lee Barnes.

Lisa was a 1980 graduate of Ashbrook High School, Gastonia, NC and a 1994 graduate of the Presbyterian School of Nursing, Charlotte, NC.

Lisa worked at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte, NC, CaroMont Medical Center, Gastonia, NC. Lisa also worked as a travel nurse with Cross Country Nurses, and most recently with EMSAR (Equipment Management Service and Repair) where she was a clinical educator.

Lisa enjoyed her work, travel, music, good friends, and family.

Left to cherish her memories are her mother, Flora Hudspeth Barnes; sisters, Patricia Lynn Barnes and Karen Lee Barnes Buie and fiancée, James Love; sons, Joshua Allen Jones and Kevin Wilson Jones and wife Peggy; stepson, Charles Milburn Jones II and fiancée Crystal Sanders, her ex-husband Charles Milburn Jones and wife Eloida and their daughter Krisi; grandchildren, Noah, Landon, Liam, Lucas, C.J. Jones and Hannah Sanders; and multiple nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank everyone who reached out with calls, messages, and donations, especially her work with family at ESMAR and Phillips.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 am Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service, 1503 South York Road, Gastonia, NC, officiated by Pastor Roger Overton.

The family will receive friends from 6 pm-8pm on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at the South Chapel.

Interment will be held at Gaston Memorial Park, Gastonia, NC.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105, Shriner's Hospital for Children, 950 W. Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605, or charity of choice.
