Linda Gail Wellman

Linda Gail Wellman, 76, of Gastonia, passed away peacefully April 3, 2016 at Caromont Regional Medical Center.

She was born May 25, 1939 in Burke County, NC, the daughter of the late Lanetta Propst Bailey.

Left to cherish her memories are her daughter Shannon Watterson and husband Travis of Gastonia; sister Sharon Warlick and husband Larry of Catawba, NC; nieces Dena Byrd and husband Robert of Conover, NC, Nicole Warlick of Newton, NC and nephew Shawn Warlick of Catawba, NC; great-niece Haylie Scott of Newton; great-nephews Bradley Byrd and wife Michele of Columbia, SC and Nathan Byrd and wife Sierra of Conover, NC and great-great-niece Mikayla Byrd of Columbia, SC.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her sister Catherine Wierenga and husband Ronald Wellman.

A funeral service will be held 2 pm Friday at Greene Funeral Service – South Chapel – 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, officiated by Pastor Gary Cunningham.

The family will receive friends 6:30 – 8:30 pm Thursday at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Westview Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association – Western Carolina Chapter, 3800 Shamrock Drive, Charlotte, NC 28215-3220.
