Linda "Winky" Walker

Linda "Winky" Walker, 53, of Shelby, passed away Friday, March 29, 2024, at her residence.

She was born November 28, 1970, in Lincoln County, NC, and was preceded in death by her father, Jesse J. Smith; and her mother and stepfather, Belinda K. and Billy D. Bates.

Winky loved her dogs.

She was a one-of-a kind. To know her is to love her.

Left to cherish her memories are her husband, Doug Walker; step-son, DJ Walker; brothers, Jesse J. Smith Jr., Donald L. Smith, Andy N. Smith (Tricia), Cassidy J. Smith; sisters, Elizabeth A. Melton (Roger) and Tabatha Costner (Jeremy); step-grandchildren, Aaron, Ally, Avery, and Piper; nieces and nephews which she considered her children, Stephanie (Michael), Emily (Derrick), Tiffany (Bradley), Jasmine, Haylee, Alexis, Mayce, Tony, Roger (Kearston), Isaiah, Parker, Reggie, Dezmond; and 18 great nieces and nephews.

A memorial service officiated by Rev. Sam Barnette, will be held 5:00 pm Thursday, April 4, 2024, at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service, 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3:00-5:00 pm prior to the service.
