Linda Joanne Shook Fincher

Linda Joanne Shook Fincher, 78, of Gastonia, NC, passed away Monday, February 13, 2023, at her residence.

She was born September 2, 1944, in Macon Co, NC, daughter of the late Samuel and Elizabeth Shook.

Linda was a member of Flint Groves Baptist Church, Gastonia, and a former member of Rankin Lake Baptist Church, where she was a G.A. Leader. She was a retired employee of TiCaro/A&E. Linda loved reading, decorating, shopping, spending time with her close friends, church members, and the Fab 5. Her favorite place to eat was Kyle Fletchers BBQ. Most importantly she loved spending time with her family, and especially her grandchildren and great-granddaughter.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Benny Fincher; brother, Richard Shook; and sister, Deborah Shook.

Linda is survived by her sons, Craig and wife Kelly Fincher, and Jason Fincher (Jessica Queen); grandchildren, Erin, Emma, Eli, and Madyn Fincher; great-grandchild, Sophie Fincher; brother and sister-in-law, Becky and Jeff Lefler, Jimmy and Teresa Fincher, and Maria Shook; special friend, Sherry; cousin, Diane; the small group; and the Fab 5, Juanita, Frances, Faye, Marie.

A funeral service officiated by Rev. Ronnie Bowers, will be held 2pm, Sunday, February 19, 2023, at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service – 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, NC 28052.

Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Burial will be held at Gaston Memorial Park, Gastonia.
