Linda Jane Kreuger Jozwiakowski passed away peacefully on December 23, 2020 in Gastonia, NC at the age of 76. Linda was born on June 17, 1944 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Kathryn and Paul Kreuger.
She is preceded in death by her beloved sisters, Paula Wittendorf and Diane Elliot.
Linda is survived by her devoted husband of 53 years, Dennis Jozwiakowski; her sons, Gregory, and wife Kelley; and Matthew and wife Diana; and grandson, Luca; and niece, Pamela O'Connor.
Linda was a professional volunteer who dedicated much of her time and energy to positively impact the communities in which she lived. She graduated with an Education degree from University of Wisconsin Milwaukee and became a school librarian until she had her first child. After that, there were many moves made by the family (from Akron, OH to Almont, MI to Arkadelphia, AR to finally Gastonia, NC) and she found that volunteering not only satisfied her passion for working with others, it was also a good way to meet people in the community. She devoted much of her, time to the Cub Scouts, ECA and a myriad of other outreach programs.
Her work as a Pack Leader began with her sons' involvement and continued well past and culminated in 2014 when she was awarded the prestigious Silver Beaver Award. Linda joined the NC Extensions & Community Association (ECA) of Gaston County soon after moving to Gastonia and the center quickly became her home away from home. Throughout her time as a member of the ECA, she held many office positions, most notably lifestyle chairperson for 15 years, district president, and most recently, secretary. In 2018, she received the ECA leader of the year award for her outstanding volunteer service.
Linda was a craft enthusiast, quilter, avid sewer, reader, and puzzle solver. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her grandson, Luca. She will be remembered for her laugh, love of games, her kindness to everyone she met & for the miscellaneous objects she "misplaced" throughout her life.
The family is grateful for the condolences. Due to current circumstances, there will not be a public service. In lieu of flowers please send any donations to one of her favorite initiatives, a scholarship program led by the NC- Extensions & Community Association of Gaston County.
