Linda Kay Ewart

Linda Kay Ewart, 72, of Gastonia, NC, passed away September 30, 2024, at Caromont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia, NC.

She was born in Gaston County, NC, on February 26, 1952, to the late Harvey "J-Bird" and Betty Chandler.

Linda was a member of Ridge Baptist Church in Gastonia. She was a loving, church-going woman. She loved her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and husband. She loved her brothers and sisters. She retired from Wix Filters after 44 years of service. Those who knew Linda remember her fondly for her Lemon Pound Cakes.

In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her husband of over 40 years, Junior Monroe Ewart; and brothers, Jimmy Chandler, and Michael Chandler; sister, Betty Sue Chandler; and son-in-law John Batton.

Linda is survived by her son, Richard Ewart and wife Mandie; daughters, Vickey Lineberry and husband Stephen, Rebecca Vernette Cox, and Patricia Batton; brother, James David "Roadrunner" Chandler; sister, Brenda Faye Drawdy; 11 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 3, 11:00 am, at Ridge Baptist Church, 3818 Old York Rd., Gastonia, NC 28056. A service to celebrate Linda's life will follow the visitation at the church at 12:00 pm. Rev. Todd Terry will officiate the service. Interment will follow the service at Westview Gardens in Bessemer City, NC.
