Linda Kay Ballard

Linda Kay Ballard, 72, of Clover, passed away at her home on February 10, 2022.

She was born in Gaston County, NC on April 4. 1949 to the late Will R. and Edna Jane Wiggins Howard.

Linda loved to go camping when she was able.  She also loved to travel across the state.

In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her brothers, Ronnie, Jack, Hubert, Houston and Frank Howard; and a sister, Louise Howard.

Linda is survived by her husband of 42 years, Floyd Ballard; sons, Dain Ballard (Susan Lee), Smitty Ballard (Amy) and Robert Hawes; daughters, Amy Cottle (Brad), Lorri Edington (Jamey), Marty Hipp (Bobby), and Beth Pursley; brothers, Clyde Wiggins and Will Howard; sisters, Barbara Stamper and Betty Dow; 17 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.

A service to celebrate the life of Linda, officiated by Rev. Dr. David Shytle, will be held Sunday, February 13, 2022, at 2:00 pm at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service, 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, NC.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

The committal service and interment will be held Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at 1:00 pm at Laurel Branch Cemetery, Laurel Branch Cemetery Road, Bryson City, NC.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Providence Care Hospice, 500 Lakeshore Parkway, Rock Hill, SC 29730.
