It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Lila Cherry Moore, who left us peacefully on March 4, 2025, at the age of 95.
Born on December 14, 1929, in North Carolina, daughter of the late John Cherry, Estelle Carpenter.
Lila lived a vibrant life filled with love, laughter, and unwavering dedication to her family. Lila was a proud high school graduate who spent her career as an office manager in the insurance industry, where she was known for her professionalism and kindness. Her warm spirit and infectious smile touched everyone who crossed her path. She was a long time member of Loray Baptist Church, Gastonia, where she was a sunday school teacher, She loved to read and do cross word puzzles. She did a lot of traveling when her husband was living. She was more of a home maker and raised all of her children which she loved dearly.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Edward Moore; and son, Dennis John Moore.
Lila will be lovingly remembered by her three daughters, Cherry Jones, Billie Beaver, and Tamara Towe; as well as her cherished grandsons, Phillip Jones, Dana Michaels, Robert Towe, Hunter Jones, and Jeremy Towe; and great grandchildren, Thomas Hunter Jones, Hanna Jones, Ethan Jones, Baylen Michaels, Ganon Michaels, Abby Grace Towe, Alex Towe, Cooper Towe, and Jennah Towe. Each of them carries a piece of her heart and legacy.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Lila's life at the Loray Baptist Church. The visitation will take place from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on March 8, 2025, followed by a heartfelt funeral service at 2:00 PM. Burial will be private.
As we gather to share our memories of Lila, let us honor the incredible woman she was-full of grace, strength, and love. She may be gone, but she will forever remain in our hearts.
