Lewis "Hobart" Kimrey

Lewis "Hobart" Kimrey, 79, of Gastonia, passed away September 18, 2016 at the Robin Johnson House in Dallas.

He was born February 21, 1937 in Alamance County, the son of the late Lewis Kimrey and Murphy Irene Rierson Kimrey.

Hobart was a member of Chapel Grove Baptist Church.  He worked for the Western Auto Distribution Center for 36 years.  He was an avid fisherman and devoted to his family.

Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of over 58 years Ruth Jones Kimrey; sons Lynn Kimrey and wife Renee; Marshall Kimrey; daughters Karen Busler and husband Allen and Rhonda Busler; grandchildren Cristy, Derek, Phillip, Jonathan and Savanna brothers Jim and Hal Kimrey; sisters Betty Wren, Jean Smith, Ann Forrester and Debbie Cheek.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Larry Kimrey and sister Nellie Euliss.

A funeral service, officiated by Pastor Roger Overton, will be held 2 pm Thursday at Greene Funeral Service – South Chapel – 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
