Letha Medford Gibson

Letha "Mid" Medford Gibson, a beloved member of the Gastonia community, peacefully passed away on July 29, 2024, at her residence in Gastonia, NC. She was born on December 5, 1944, in Gastonia, where she spent her entire life dedicated to her family and work.

Letha worked diligently as a bookkeeper in the machine parts manufacturing industry, showcasing her commitment and work ethic throughout her career. Despite not obtaining a formal diploma, her skills and dedication were evident to all those who had the privilege of knowing her.

Letha was preceded in death by her parents Melvin Medford and Annie Medford, husband Ronnie Gibson, daughters Tonya Foley and spouse Brian and infant daughter Crystal Dawn, Brother James Medford, and sisters Joanne Stacey and Louise Sweeten.

She is survived by her loving grandchildren, Jonathan Lunsford and wife Kari Lunsford, Kelly Mooney and husband Heath Mooney, great grandchild Wade "Wooster" Mooney, sister Ruth Sweeten and brother Paul Medford, special nieces Sheila and Teresa, who will forever cherish the memories.

A visitation to honor and celebrate Letha's life will be held at Greene Funeral Service South Chapel on Friday August 2, 2024, at 1:30 pm to 2:30. Following the visitation, a graveside service will take place at the burial site located at Gaston Memorial Park, 1200 S New Hope Rd., Gastonia, NC 28054, at 3:00 pm, officiated by Reverend Sam Barnette. Pallbearers will be family and friends

Letha Medford Gibson's legacy of hard work, devotion to family, and kindness towards others will continue to inspire all those who knew her. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the love and memories she created in her lifetime.
