Lester Gene Head

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lester Gene Head, who left us on January 13, 2026. Born on December 7, 1956, in York County, South Carolina, Lester lived a life filled with passion for family, music, and good old football. A technician by trade in the textile industry, he was known for his hard work and dedication.

Lester was a proud Dallas Cowboys fan who never missed a game. He found joy in cranking up his favorite tunes from Pink Floyd and Guns N' Roses, often sharing those moments with family and friends. Above all, Lester cherished his time with his beloved spouse of 45 years, Evelyn Head, with whom he shared countless memories and adventures. Also left to cherish Lester's memories are his son, Brian Head (Taylor) and Brad Head; grandchildren, Kylie and Blakely.

Lester was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Betty Head; brothers, Donald Head and Cecil "June Bug" Head; sister, Ann Dean.

Lester's family and friends will gather to honor him at a memorial service held at Greene Funeral Service South Chapel on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at 3:00 PM.

He will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family and his zest for life. While he may be gone, his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. Rest easy, Lester. You'll be missed but never forgotten.
