Lester James Bolynn, 73, of Gastonia, passed away January 19, 2024, At Caromont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia.

He was born December 21, 1950, in Hemingway, SC, son of the late Herman and Rosa Roe Bolynn.

Lester attended Good News Tabernacle in Bessemer City. He loved to help people, anyone he possibly could especially anyone that was around him that were family and friends. He was happy -go-lucky and he never had a bad day. He enjoyed going out with his friends every Saturday to eat.

He was a US Marine Veteran who served in Vietnam.

He was a former coach for the Little League Baseball at Chapel Grove Optimist. He was a huge sports fan and his favorite college team was the Carolina Tarheels.

A gathering of family and friends will be held 6-8 pm Thursday, January 25, 2024, at the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service 216 Archie Whitesides Road Gastonia, with military honors provided by the US Marines.

Lester is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Kathy Berryhill Bolynn; his daughter, Candace "Nichole" Parker Adams and husband Rahza; brother, Donald "PY" Bolynn; grandchildren, Rahza Adams II, Jaxon Adams; numerous cousins and friends.

In addition to his parents, Lester was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Good New Tabernacle Childrens Christmas Fund, 715 Athenia Place Bessemer City, NC 28016.
