Leonarda (Nadine) Jacobs - artist, interior designer, mother, wife, and friend - was born Jan 21st, 1945 to Joseph and Angela Bommarito . in Detroit, Michigan. She transitioned to the next realm July 18th, 2025, with her daughter Julie at her side in Gastonia, North Carolina.
She was a much loved member of the artistic community in Wichita, Kansas. She could always be counted upon to help with creative projects, assist clients and friends to make their homes beautiful, and to help her children achieve their dreams. She used to say, "Let's make it look nice", and then would design something even more beautiful than initially imagined. When she retired, she continued to create wonderful things with metal, wood, fiber and paint. We were awed by her talent and continue to be immensely proud of her.
She was preceded in death by her beloved grandparents, Antonio and Leonarda Asta, her parents, and our father, Floyd Jacobs. She is survived by her sister, Vita Tantanella (Frank) of Attica, Michigan, and her children - daughter Jennifer Kewley (Kevin) of Wichita, Kansas; daughter Julie Coffey (Kelly Tatro) of Gastonia, North Carolina: and son Anthony Jacobs (Keri) of Park City, Kansas. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren Anne Hamilton (Jake) and great grandson Finn of Lawrence, Kansas; Payton Mensch and great grandson Rylan, and MacKenzie Hinson (Andrew) of Raleigh, North Carolina; Margaret Jacobs of Lawrence, Kansas; Sophia Jacobs, Eleanor Jacobs, Anna Jacobs, and Julia Jacobs of Park City, Kansas. She is also survived by many friends.
A Celebration of Life is being planned in Wichita, Kansas. Details will be shared as soon as they become available.
