Leonard "Chief" Hilderbrand

Leonard "Chief" Hilderbrand, 58, of Gastonia, passed away on June 7, 2014 at his home. He was born March 21, 1956 in York County, SC, son of the late Marshall Wylie Hilderbrand and Joyce Yarber Hilderbrand. "Chief" was a retired US Navy veteran. A funeral service will be held 11:00 am on Thursday at Chapel Grove Baptist Church, 716 Camp Rotary Rd., Gastonia, officiated by Pastor Roger Overton. The family will receive friends 7:00 - 9:00 pm on Wednesday at Greene Funeral Service, West Chapel, 216 Archie Whitesides Rd., Gastonia. Interment will be at Gaston Memorial Park, Gastonia, with military honors provided by the US Navy and the Gaston County Honor Guard. "Chief" is survived by: sons, Michael Jones, Marshall Hilderbrand; daughters, Ashley Justice and husband Steven Justice Jr., Karen Shires; sisters, Sherry Hilderbrand Loiselle of Leicester, MA, Linda Falls of Gastonia, Von Falls of Blacksburg, SC; grandchildren, Milee, Willow, Autum, Corrigan, Michaela, Chris. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by: wife, Susan Bolton Hilderbrand; brothers, Keith and Jerry Hilderbrand.
