Lelia Seagle Houser

Lelia Seagle Houser, age 88, of Gastonia passed away Sunday, July 19, 2015 at Caromont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia. She was born October 22, 1926 in Lincoln County, daughter of the late Lois Reeves Seagle and Oney Caldwell Seagle. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edison Lee Houser Sr.; brother, Arnold Seagle, and sister, Alma Reitzel. Leila was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Gastonia and a proud member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW. The family would like to give special thanks to friends, fellow church members, and church family. Mrs. Houser is survived by her children and spouses, Sue Jane Mason and husband Jerry of Clemmons, NC, and Eddie Houser and wife Joyce of Gastonia; brother, Robert Seagle of Newton; numerous nieces and nephews; and granddogs, Maggie and Daisy. A funeral service, officiated by Pastor Scott Whitener, will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, July 22 at Temple Baptist Church, Gastonia. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Gaston Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Temple Baptist Church, 701 Littlejohn St., Gastonia, NC 28052. Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium.
