Lela Haynie Wylie

Lela Haynie Wylie, 93, of Mint Hill passed away December 25, 2014 at Clear Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born September 3, 1921 in Gaston County, the daughter of the late Jerry Benjamin and Della Wright Barker. Lela was a member of Ranlo Church of God and Union Road Church of God. She is survived by her son Steve Haynie of Matthews; eleven grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Samuel B. Haynie, Sr. and Dexter Wylie; sons Samuel B. Haynie, Jr. and Jerry Haynie; twelve sisters; one brother and four grandchildren. A funeral service will be held 2 pm on Monday at Greene Funeral Service - South Chapel - 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, officiated by Dr. Welton Wriston and Shirley Wriston. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Gaston Memorial Park.
