Lela Moore

Lela Kinley Moore 1927 - 2014 Lela Kinley Moore, 87, of Gastonia, passed away Sunday, July 6, 2014 at Alexandria Place in Gastonia. A native of Gaston County, she was born May 4, 1927, daughter of the late Luka and Ila Mae Kinley. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Moore; sister, Alice Adair; and brother, Henry Kinley. She is survived by her sons, Gary Carpenter of Kings Mountain and Larry Carpenter of Winterville, NC; daughter, Sandra Honeycutt of Murrells Inlet, SC; sister, Ada Cantrell of Cherryville; niece, Norma Grayson of Cherryville; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren. A memorial service, officiated by Rev. Chester Waters, will be held 3 pm Friday, July 11, at Greene Funeral Service, South Chapel, 1503 South York Rd, Gastonia. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ridge Baptist Church, 3818 Old York Rd., Gastonia, NC 28056 Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
