Laura Briscoe Francis

Laura Briscoe Francis, 89, of Gastonia, passed away Friday, September 18, 2015 at Belaire Health Care Center, Gastonia. She was born November 24, 1925 in Rutherford County NC and was the daughter of the late Pink and Kate Edney Briscoe. Laura loved her family, nursing, and reading. She was always on the go helping others. A funeral service will be held 11 am Tuesday at the First Baptist Church 2650 Union Rd. Gastonia, where she was a member. The service will be officiated by Rev. Tom Bayes. Interment will follow 2 pm at Mt Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery 2676 Hudlow Rd. Forest City, NC. The family will receive friends 10 - 11 am prior to the service at First Baptist Church. Laura is survived by her daughters, Karen Crisp and husband William, Judy Foster, grandchildren, Michelle Dixon, Darren Crisp, Scott Crisp and wife Melissa, Desiree Foster, five great grandchildren, eight great great grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son, Ralph Hinton Francis Jr., brother, Edney Briscoe, sister, Beatrice Briscoe Ensley. The family is being served by the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium.
