Larry "Neal" Stover

Larry "Neal" Stover, 83, of Gastonia, passed away December 22, 2014 at Caromont Regional Medical Center. He was born June 12, 1931 native of Gaston County, son of the late John Jacob and Cora Lee Stover. Larry loved his family and enjoyed being Paw-Paw to his grandchildren. He was a deacon at Ridge Baptist Church and a member of the Ridge Hoppers. He was also a retired veteran of the US Army and retired from Homelite after 35 years of service. Larry is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Norma Cloniger Stover; sons, Keith Stover and wife, Pat and Timothy Stover; grandchildren, Holly and husband Ronnie, Jacob, Brittany, Kristen, and Erika Stover and his best friend and faithful dog, Molly. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Brack, Paul, Harmon, Boyd and Estell Stover; sisters, Juanita Stewart, Ann Taylor, Freida Crenshaw, Agnes Hall and Ara Johnson. A celebration of "Neal's" life will be held 2 pm Saturday at Ridge Baptist Church - 3818 Old York Rd., Gastonia, officiated by the Rev. L. Chester Waters. Visitation will be 1 - 1:45 pm Saturday prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Olney Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
