Larry Prather

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Larry Scott Prather, who left us on December 17, 2025, at the age of 45. Born on July 4, 1980, in Lincolnton, NC, Scott was a bright spirit whose presence will be missed by many.

Scott spent his life in Gastonia, NC, where he proudly worked as a delivery driver at a local pizza restaurant. He was known for his friendly smile and reliable service, often brightening the day of everyone he encountered. Larry placed great importance on family.

Scott is preceded in death by Charles and Marlene Prather, and Frances and Jim Gates.

He is survived by loving parents, Larry and Lorenza Prather; sisters, Kelly and Megan Prather; brother, Seth Prather; daughter, Hailey Prather; aunt, Angie Dover and many other aunts and uncles; 3 nieces; 4 nephews; and step-mother, MaryAnne Prather.

Scott 's love for life was evident to everyone who knew him. He cherished the simple joys and brought laughter and warmth to those around him. His loyalty and kindness will be remembered by friends and family alike.

Rest in peace, Scott. You will be dearly missed.
