Larry "Pop" Hoffman

Larry "Pop "Hoffman, 83, of Gastonia, passed away on October 25, 2016, at Caromont Regional Medical Center, Gastonia.

He was born May 12, 1933, in Gaston County, son of the late Thurman and Winnie Elizabeth McGuire Hoffman.

"Pop" loved his family and was devoted to all of them. He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Gastonia. He had retired from Electrolux after 50 years of service. He was the vice president of public relations with "We's is Trees" and he played semi pro baseball from 1952 – 1956. One of his favorite places that he loved going to was Kure Beach.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 28, 2016, at Greene Funeral Service, West Chapel, 216 Archie Whitesides Rd. Gastonia, officiated by Pastor Doug Cooper.

The family will receive friends 7:00- 9:00 p.m. Thursday, October 27, 2016 at the funeral home.

Interment will be at Westview Gardens, Bessemer City.

Mr. Hoffman is survived by sons, Larry Kent Hoffman Jr. and wife Dawn, Tracy Boy Hoffman and wife Karen; daughter, Robin Hoffman Sanders; sister, Aundy Holland; his best friend and youngest grandson, Jake Hoffman, eight grandchildren; eight  great- grandchildren; one great- great- grandchild;

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Jacquilyn Cross Hoffman; brother, Freddie Hoffman.
