Larry Nelson Greene

Larry Nelson Greene, 73, of Gastonia, passed away January 13, 2017 at Peak resources in Gastonia.

A Gaston County native, he was born September 4, 1943, son of the late Charlie and Doris Greene.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Greene was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Greene; daughter, Wendy Clary; brother, Richard Greene; and sister, Mattie Griggs.

Left to cherish his memories are his son, Robert Townsend of Gastonia; brother, Barry Greene of Gastonia; sisters, Vickie Bradshaw and Diane Willocks; grandchildren, Jesse and Cody Clary; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service, officiated by the Rev. David Caldwell, will be held 2 pm Thursday at Greene Funeral Service, South Chapel, 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 pm Wednesday.

Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Belmont.
