Larry Lee Crooks, 81, of Dallas, passed away December 28, 2014 at Caromont Regional Medical Center. He was born March 15, 1933 in Seneca, SC, the son of the late Lee and Faye Crooks. Larry was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a member of Return Baptist Church in South Carolina. He was a veteran of the US Navy. He retired from Burlington Industries after 21 years. Larry then went to work at C.H. Patrick where he was employed for 4 years and was presently employed at Gaston Recycle Center. He also enjoyed working with wood. He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years Faye Crooks; children Hope and Donald Ritter, Larri Ann and Allen Abernathy, Lori McCall, Aundrea and Stephen Wilson III, Alisha and Denitas Frye, Cynthia and Gary Stockton, Pamela Stockton, Brenda and Albert Gonzales, Rev. Eric and Arlene Quinn and Michael Quinn; sister Carolyn and Ralph King; twenty grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren and beloved dog Sue Ellen. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Thersa Quinn; grandson, Anthony Ritter and sister Brenda Creek. A going home service will be held 2 pm Wednesday at Greene Funeral Service - South Chapel - 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, officiated by the Revs. Bobby Gilley and Sam Barnette. Visitation will be 1:00 - 1:45 pm prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Gaston Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to South Gastonia Church of God, Victory Christian Academy - 310 Carolina Avenue, Gastonia, NC 28052. Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
