Larry L. Cloninger, 89, of Box Springs Georgia, formerly of Forest City, passed away on November 11, 2014 at Midtown Medical Center West in Columbus, Georgia. He was born January 22, 1925 in Gaston County, son of the late George Henry Cloninger and Era Badger Cloninger and his late step-mother, Leigh Willard Cloninger. Mr. Cloninger was a World War II veteran who served in the US Marine Corps. He was retired from PSNC after 40 years of service. A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. on Friday at Pisgah ARP Church Cemetery, 3600 Linwood Rd., Gastonia, officiated by Pastor Rick Lewis. The family will meet at 10:30 a.m. on Friday at Greene Funeral Service, West Chapel, 216 Archie Whitesides Rd. Gastonia, to go in procession to the cemetery. Mr. Cloninger is survived by: son, Lin Cloninger and wife Cindy of Box Springs, GA; brother, Clifford Cloninger and wife Barbara of Gastonia; grandchild, Jason Silvey and wife Anne Marie of Sycamore, IL In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by: his wife, Betty Foy Cloninger; five brothers; five sisters. Arrangements are with the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
