Larry Wayne Barnes

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Larry Wayne Barnes, age 59, who peacefully departed this life on June 21, 2025. Born on October 28, 1965, in North Carolina, Larry spent his life in the Gastonia area, where he contributed to the community through his work in general construction. He was known for his dedication to his craft and his self-employed endeavors.

Larry is survived by his brother, Steven Barnes (Nikki), several nieces and nephews. He will be remembered not only for his contributions to the construction industry but also for the love and kindness he shared with his family and friends.

All services will be private.

As we remember Larry, we ask that all who knew him celebrate his life and the impact he made during his time with us. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of those he touched.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents Douglas Barnes and Glyda Godfrey, brothers, David and Rick McJunkins, sister, Barbara Baker.
