Kristina R. Welch

Kristina R. Welch, 69, of York, passed away Sunday, June 12, 2016, at Wayne T. Patrick Hospice.  She was born October 28, 1946, in Gaston County, daughter of the late Author Richards and Evelyne Durham Richards.  Kristina, a native of Gaston County, was a college graduate from York Tech with an associate's degree in Business. She retired from NC DMV.  Left to cherish her memories are her significant other, Leonard Lackey; son, Steven E. Welch and family; daughter, Angee M. Welch Monk and family; sister, Kimberly R. Bartlett and family; and grandchildren, Tiara Davis, Dustin Welch, Zackery Monk, Ashlee Monk, and Masun Hanline.  A funeral service will be held 10am on Wednesday at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service, 1503 South York Rd., Gastonia. Pastor Robert Thompson will be officiating.  The family will receive friends 6-8pm on Tuesday at the funeral home.  Interment will be held at Gaston Memorial Park.  Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
