Kirby Jean Raines, 70, of Stanley passed away Sunday, August 20, 2017 at Caromont Regional Medical Center.
She was born April 23, 1947, daughter of the late Ernest Lee Robinson and Ethel Evelyn (Dellinger) Robinson.
Kirby was a member of Fairview Baptist Church. She was a wonderful wife, loving mother and Nana.
Left to cherish her memories are her husband of 52 years the Rev. Andy Raines; daughter, Rene Smith and her husband Quaid; brother, Ernest Lee Robinson, Jr; grandchildren, Austin Raines and Jacob Smith; her fur baby Scarlett.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her son John Mark Raines.
A funeral service, officiated by Rev. Jack Fleming and Pastor Greg Ballard will be held 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at Fairview Baptist Church, 1706 W. Davidson Avenue, Gastonia. Visitation will be held 6 - 8 p.m. Tuesday at Greene Funeral Service – South Chapel 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children Research Hospital or Shriner's Children's Hospital.
Kirby's final resting place will be at Hillcrest Gardens, Mt. Holly.
Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Services and Crematorium, Gastonia.
