Obituary

Kevin Lee Wooten, 68, of Bessemer City, affectionately known as "Hambone" and "Papa," passed away peacefully on April 13, 2026, at the Testa Family Hospice House in Kings Mountain, on what would have been his 47th wedding anniversary and the 66th birthday of his beloved wife, Robin, Kevin departed this world to be with her once again.

He was born June 27, 1957, in Gaston County and was the son of the late William Hardin Wooten and Gladis McGiboney Wooten.

Kevin enjoyed a fulfilling career as a forklift mechanic in the industrial sector, where his work ethic and dedication were well respected. Outside of his professional life, he found joy on the golf course whenever he could make the time, relishing the peacefulness and camaraderie the game provided.

He enjoyed going to the United Veterans of America, a place that welcomed him with open arms and treated him like family. Kevin cherished the bonds he formed there, engaging in friendly games of pool and enjoying the company of his friends. His laughter and warmth brought light to the lives of those around him, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

All services will be private.

Kevin is survived by his sons, Brandon Wooten, Casey Wooten and daughter-in-law, Amber White; sister, Brenda Trantham and husband Larry; four grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Robin Wooten; and brother, Jerry Wooten.

As we reflect on Kevin's life, we remember his loving nature, his passion for life, and his unwavering commitment to those he cared for. May his soul rest in peace, and may we carry forward his legacy of love and friendship.
