Kenny Greene

Kenny Greene, 49, of Gastonia, NC, passed away Thursday, September 9, 2021, at his residence.

He was born December 1, 1971, a native of Gaston Co, NC, son of the late William Kenneth Greene Sr. and Johnnie McCarver Greene.

Kenny was a member of Maylo United Methodist Church, Ranlo. He was an avid action figure collector, comic book lover and DC and Marvel fanatic. He loved to talk to anyone, was loved by many, and he never met a stranger. He fought a valiant fight, always had a positive outlook and NEVER complained. He always said, "I wake up every morning and go about my day as if I'm not even sick. God gave me another day so I'm going to live like nothing is wrong and I'm not sick. At the end it was my body that gave out because I never gave up."

He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Pam Greene; his in-laws, Shirley and Harold Frye, and Steve and Judy McIntyre; sisters-in-law, Tracy Kirby and husband, Richard, Christy Thompson and wife, Erica, and Stacey Coleman and husband, Wesley; special sister, Tarra Wilkinson; and several nieces. Three children who had a very special bond with Kenny include, Journey and Jagger Lockhart, as well as Elizabeth "Laney" Spry.

A celebration of Kenny's life will be held 2pm on Monday, September 13, 2021, at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service – 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, NC 28052. Burial will be held at Olney Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Gastonia.

Family will receive friends 4pm – 6pm, on Sunday, September 12, 2021, at the funeral home.
